ABOUT:
After dealing with many unnerving, unusual, unexplainable, health issues for over 15 years without answers from any doctors, I finally received an accurate diagnosis in 2012 of late stage Lyme Disease and co-infections, Babesia and Bartonella. After finding out I had those infections, I had no idea the average treatment time was 3 1/2 years! I was commited doing whatever it took to recover and becoming healthier doing so.
My own personal health challenges along with the support of my husband, were the springboard that finally motivated me to leave my high stress job in the mortgage industry and focus on fully healing.
While attempting to reclaim my health, I experimented with many styles of eating — Paleo, AIP, GAPS, and low histamine. I know how it feels to try many dietary options, get glimmers of improvement only to have “something” cause a cascade of painful and annoying symptoms. All that to say, I understand how frustrating the road to optimal health can sometimes feel, however I also know optimal health can be a reality!
After year of stable health, I enrolled at Bauman College’s Holistic Nutrition Consulting program. I’d been wanting to attend their program for nearly a decade! I graduated with Honors in 2017, then decided to further my education, becoming a Certified GAPS Practitioner in 2018. That same year, I attended my first NANP Conference and completed the Certified Revitalize Digestion Practitioner training.
Revitalize Digestion has been one the most helpful tools I use with clients. The training connected me with Erin Livers, an extremely knowledgable nutrition practitioner. In 2020, Erin shared she was looking for nutritionists to join the team at Roots and Branches, I immediately applied and was thrilled to start training in 2021.
Since 2022, I’ve had the privilege of being part of the nutrition team at Roots and Branches Integrative Healthcare. It has been an amazing experience working with one of the top Shoemaker Certified Clinics. Every week, I collaborate with two knowledgeable nutritionists, two naturopathic doctors, and three functional nurse practitioners, allowing me to stay on the forefront of all things health and nutrition. We are a team dedicated to helping people recover from CIRS and other complex health concerns. It is extremely gratifying!
I have comprehensive knowledge of micro-biome health, managing and overcoming food sensitivities, histamine intolerance, GAPS, Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), SIBO, low FODMAPS, low surcose, blood sugar regulation, circadian alignment/light hygiene, CIRS, Lyme disease, and co-infections.
Focusing on nutrient dense food played an extensive role my body’s ability to rebuild and recover from illness. I credit nature and sunlight for optimizing my health. Spending time outdoors, managing my light enviroment, and paying close attention to circadian rhythm, has provided a foundation for stable and strong health. If you have an appointment with me, you’ll notice I am often outdoors during our meeting!
During the years I was actively receiving treatment for Lyme and co-infections, I was fortunate to work with some of the best doctors in the US and Germany. One of the attributes I admire most about the doctors and practitioners I worked with was their caring and collaborative nature. I found that to be a very important aspect of our relationships. This is an attribute I hope to share with my clients.
Over the past 10 years, much of my spare time has been spent building a homestead with my husband. We have two rescue dogs, 30 chickens, bee colonies, a small orchard, and vegetable garden. I also enjoy spending time family and friends. My other favorite activities are hiking, camping, water sports, yoga, dancing, and listening to a variety of music and podcasts.
